Who We Are - Gone2Korea Explained |
|
|
From the beginning our purpose has been to supply people with the information and resources they need in order to make a decision that they will feel comfortable with. Our honest explanations provide helpful insight about the ESL industry and the job market in Korea.

Our Philosophy – Teaching English in Korea is only part of the overall experience abroad and working at the best school does not guarantee a positive overall experience if the location is undesirable. Likewise, working in the best location does not guarantee a positive overall experience if your school is undesirable. What is acceptable to one person may not be acceptable to another. We believe that the more informed you are the more confident you become in making your final decision on what job to accept. We believe that offering interested teachers the most comprehensive information available is the best way to ensure they are happy with whatever school they decide to work for.

Before |
|
When we first started placing teachers in 2000, we too were working for various South Korean schools throughout the country. While we were there we had many friends from back home asking questions about the intriguing emails we were sending them and the large amounts of money we were saving. To make a long story short, they eventually started asking if there were other teaching jobs in Korea available, and if so, was it possible for them to come over and fill these positions.
At that time just like today, there was a demand for native English speakers in many cities throughout South Korea. Therefore it was just a matter of finding the best schools to match them with. It wasn't long before we had indirectly recruited 11 of our friends and friends of friends from back home.
After completing our third annual contract we decided to return home to Canada.
We tried working normal jobs here in Toronto but found ourselves bored and out of place with the so called 'rat race' of North American life. We started brainstorming ideas of how to incorporate our experiences into a business. Offering guidance and information to adventurous people interested in teaching ESL in Korea was the final decision. |

Today |
|
Today Gone2Korea is an established placement agency and information center with access to South Korean schools in more than 50 locations throughout the country. Please review the Korean cities that we work with for more information.
Instead of expanding into new ESL markets such as China and Japan, like many agencies do, we continued our focus on South Korea and continue to promote this wonderful country.
Over the years we have developed solid relationships with our partners and an honest reputation amongst the teachers we assist.. A large portion of our business is now based on referrals because of these factors. We ask that you visit Gone2Korea's Testimonials Page to see what our applicants have to say about us.
Gone2Korea ESL Employment Services is a registered business within the province of Ontario.
